The following is in memoriam to Angel, who fought a hard battle with cancer, passed away, and is now in Heaven with his Heavenly Father.
After graduating from Texas Tech University with a degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology, and as a player on the Texas Tech Red Raiders football team, Angel started his financial services career in 1977 with The Equitable, a firm he worked with for the next 35 years of career. He and Jerry Thormahlen, having worked together at the Equitable, started their own firm in 2015, merging with Paul Gaschen in 2019 to form Gaschen, Berlingeri & Associates. With the wonderful addition of Jon Casebolt in 2023, the Gaschen, Berlingeri & Casebolt team was complete!
An interesting fact is that Angel was hired by Paul’s father, John Gaschen, in 1977--- Angel then returned the favor in 1991 by hiring Paul!
His career focused on learning the financial needs and concerns of clients, then finding ways to help them create solutions for their goals. Having experienced the many economic changes of the financial industry through the years, this equipped him to create solutions that not only handle the events of today, but prepare for the changes of tomorrow. He found joy in working within the generational needs of families.
Angel has a son, James, and a precious joy is his granddaughter, Jessica! When he was not at the office, Angel could be found traveling the roads of Texas and beyond, with a special emphasis on the Texas Coast. He found joy in his relationship with Christ, and that joy was expanded in his hobbies of fishing and all things Texas Tech Athletics (a special leaning towards the gridiron!)
